L02 Commercial removalists
Commercial removalists move businesses that are not quite offices: a shop changing tenancies, a showroom refreshing its floor, a clinic moving into a new fit-out, a studio or workshop, a warehouse shifting stock, or a property stylist running furniture to a home open every week. Each of those moves has a different load, a different building and a different deadline. Moveall for Business, the commercial service of Moveall Australia Pty Ltd, plans commercial removals in Adelaide around the business, the stock and the trading day.

This page covers commercial work other than a standard office move. For desks, workstations and office floors, see office removalists in Adelaide.
Commercial removalists Adelaide businesses use, by type of business
Moveall for Business names office relocations, new furniture fit-outs, regular removals for home stylists, and regular furniture or bulky goods transport among its services, and it works with Adelaide’s property stylists, home stagers and interior designers. Here is how a commercial move changes with the business.
Shops and retail tenancies
A shop move is fixtures, stock and timing. Shelving, counters, display units and stock all have to come out of one tenancy and into another, usually between closing on one day and opening on the next. Plan the stock by zone the way you plan an office by desk: give every shelf, rack and display a code on the new floor plan, and pack and label stock to match, so the shop can be set up in the order customers will see it.
Shopping centres and malls have their own rules. Most want the move booked with centre management, a time for the service corridor or dock, and the removalist’s details in advance. In Rundle Mall, the City of Adelaide does not allow vehicles in the mall from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 9:15 pm on Friday and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Outside those hours, permit holders may enter to load and unload for businesses with no other access point, for up to 30 minutes. A Rundle Mall shop move is planned around those windows; Adelaide CBD office moves has the detail.
Showrooms
Showroom stock is often large, finished and on display, which means it has to arrive looking the way it left. Furniture is wrapped in moving blankets, and large or palletised goods can travel on a curtain-sider: Moveall for Business lists curtain-siders for palletised side-load freight alongside its 3, 5 and 8 tonne Pantech trucks. Tell us which pieces are display stock and which are for sale, and whether anything is going straight to a customer instead of the new showroom.
Clinics, studios and professional rooms
Clinics, consulting rooms, salons and studios are offices with extra pieces: treatment chairs, reception counters, equipment, files that must stay private. List anything sensitive or specialised in the brief, and say which items your own supplier or technician should move or reconnect. Files and records can be packed and sealed by your staff before the move, and the plan can keep them with a named person from door to door.
Warehouses and stock
A warehouse move is about pallets, racking and order. Curtain-siders load from the side, which suits palletised goods and a forklift at the dock. Moveall for Business also lists warehouse pick and pack among its extra tasks, which helps when stock has to be picked from one site and sent in smaller loads to others. Give us pallet counts, the heaviest items and the dock arrangements at both ends.
Property stylists, home stagers and interior designers
Stylists and stagers move furniture in and out of homes for sale all year, often on short notice before a home open. Interior designers need new furniture delivered and placed for a fit-out. Moveall for Business is built for this regular work: trade accounts on end-of-month terms, a dedicated account manager, a custom online booking portal and priority for trade clients. Hanging artwork and assembling furniture are on its list of extra tasks. See trade accounts for the terms.

How a commercial removal is planned
- The brief. What the business is, where it is moving from and to, and when it has to trade again.
- The inventory. Fixtures, furniture, stock, equipment and anything heavy or bulky. Moveall’s fixed-price quotes rely on the inventory list, and extra items found on the day can cost extra.
- Access at both ends. Centre management, loading docks, service corridors, lifts, rear lanes and street parking. We check parking and loading arrangements with the building or centre before moving day.
- The trucks. Pantechs for furniture and fixtures, curtain-siders for palletised goods, sized to the inventory and to what each dock and street can take.
- The written quote. What moves, the window, the trucks and team, and extras such as assembly, artwork hanging or pick and pack.
- The move. Furniture wrapped in moving blankets, loaded in the order the plan sets, and placed by code at the new premises, with clear, safe paths kept between the truck and the door.
Commercial removals around trading hours
The cost of a commercial move is rarely the truck: it is the trade lost while the doors are shut. Some ways businesses keep that short:
- Move fixtures and back-of-house first, then stock, then the front of house, so the shop can open with the counter and the best-selling lines in place.
- Pack slow-moving stock early and keep fast sellers on the shelf until the last day.
- Book the centre’s dock or the building’s lift for the times it allows, and put those times in the brief. We will say in writing what we can do for those hours before anything is booked.
- Have the signwriter, the shopfitter and the IT or point-of-sale provider booked in the right order, so the removal does not wait on them or block them.
What to give us for a commercial quote
| Business | What helps the quote |
|---|---|
| Shop | Fixture list, stock volume by zone, centre or mall loading rules |
| Showroom | Display pieces, sizes of the largest items, anything going straight to customers |
| Clinic or studio | Equipment list, what your own supplier moves, private records |
| Warehouse | Pallet count, heaviest items, dock and forklift at both ends |
| Stylist or stager | How often you move, typical loads, the homes and the warehouse |
| Interior designer | Suppliers, delivery dates, assembly and artwork hanging |
Cover on a commercial move
Moveall holds $20 million public liability cover. Cover for your stock, fixtures and equipment while they are in transit is a separate question: ask us about transit insurance when you request the quote, and check what your own business policy covers during a move. Centre and building managers often ask for the removalist’s public liability details before they book a dock; tell us what your centre needs.
Commercial removalists across Adelaide
We plan commercial moves within and between the 28 suburbs on Moveall’s list: Adelaide City; Prospect, Walkerville, Mawson Lakes, Salisbury, Elizabeth, Paradise, Modbury, Golden Grove and Tea Tree Gully in the north; Norwood, Payneham, Magill, Campbelltown and Burnside in the east; Unley, Goodwood, Mitcham, Blackwood and Marion in the south; Glenelg, Brighton, Plympton, Henley Beach, West Lakes, Semaphore and Port Adelaide in the west and along the beaches; and Mount Barker in the Hills. The areas page says how the plan changes between the city, suburban shopping strips and business parks.
A business moving premises has more to think about than the load: customers, suppliers, staff and a new address. Business relocation in Adelaide covers that side. For the complete list of what we take on, see office relocation services in Adelaide.

Can you move palletised goods?
Moveall for Business lists curtain-siders for palletised side-load freight. Give us the pallet count and the dock and forklift arrangements at both ends.
Do you work with property stylists and home stagers?

Can you move a shop in Rundle Mall?
Rundle Mall moves are planned around the City of Adelaide’s vehicle hours: no vehicles from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 9:15 pm on Friday and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, and permit loading of up to 30 minutes outside those hours for businesses with no other access point. Both are on the list of extra tasks Moveall for Business offers. Put them in the brief so they are in the quote.
