L04 Corporate relocation
Corporate relocation covers two kinds of move. The first is the organisation itself: a head office changing buildings, several floors consolidating into one, a regional office opening or closing. The second is the people: staff relocating to Adelaide for a role, or leaving it. Moveall for Business, the commercial service of Moveall Australia Pty Ltd, plans the first as a project with your facilities team, and Moveall’s household and interstate services handle the second.

Corporate relocation Adelaide projects: how a multi-floor move is planned
A large office move is a sequence of smaller ones. The plan sets the order, and everything else follows it.
- One contact on each side. Your project lead and ours, so decisions are made once and passed on once.
- The inventory, by floor and team. Workstations, offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, comms rooms, archives and anything heavy or bulky, floor by floor. Moveall’s fixed-price quotes rely on the inventory list, so a full list keeps the price where it was quoted.
- Stacking and sequencing. Which teams go to which floors, which floors move first, and which have to be working by when.
- Building access at both ends. Lift bookings, loading dock times, under the building manager’s own rules; parking for the trucks; security passes for the team.
- IT and facilities trades. Your IT provider, telecommunications, security and fit-out contractors, booked around the move window.
- The written quote. Stages, trucks, team, extras and the cover in place, set down before anything is booked.
- The move, stage by stage, with every item placed by desk code at the new office and your project lead checking each floor against the plan.
Moveall for Business lists 3, 5 and 8 tonne Pantech trucks, enclosed removal trucks, plus curtain-siders for palletised side-load freight, and moving blankets for furniture. The mix on a corporate move depends on the volume and on what each building’s dock and street can take.

Consolidating floors or sites
Many corporate relocations bring two or more offices into one. That changes the inventory: there is usually more furniture than the new floor needs, and some of it is better than the rest. Decide before the quote which pieces move, which go to another site and which stay behind, and mark them on both floor plans. A consolidation is often run as two moves into one building, each with its own stage and its own lift bookings, so the teams arrive in the order the new floor plan expects.
Opening or closing a regional office works the same way in reverse. The furniture and equipment from a closing office can be split between sites, sent to the head office or delivered to a new tenancy, as long as each item is coded for where it is going.
Records, archives and confidential files
Corporate moves usually include records that must stay private. Have your own staff pack and seal confidential files, label the cartons with a code that does not describe the contents, and name a person to receive them at the new office. Archive rooms are best packed well before the main move, because they are large, heavy and rarely needed day to day. List them in the inventory by carton count so the quote covers them.
What building managers ask for
Managed office buildings protect their lifts, lobbies and docks, and most ask for the same things before they book a move:
| The building may ask for | What to do |
|---|---|
| Lift and dock bookings | Give us the building manager’s contact at both ends; we check parking, lifts and loading arrangements before moving day |
| The removalist’s insurance details | Moveall holds $20 million public liability cover; tell us what document your building needs |
| A move plan | The written quote and the stage plan show the times, trucks and routes |
| Protection for lifts and common areas | Ask the building what it requires and put it in the brief so the quote covers it |
| Permitted move times | Put the building’s times in the brief; the move window is written to them |
In the city centre there are council rules too: Rundle Mall vehicle hours and City Works permits for skips, containers or elevated platforms on council roads or footpaths. See Adelaide CBD office moves.
Accounts, invoicing and one point of contact
Organisations that move furniture often, between floors, between sites or for fit-outs, can work on a Moveall for Business trade account rather than one-off quotes. Moveall for Business offers end-of-month accounts, a dedicated account manager, a custom online booking portal and priority for trade clients. One account manager means one person who knows your buildings, your contacts and your standards. The terms are on trade accounts.
Cover on a corporate move
Moveall holds $20 million public liability cover. Cover for your furniture, equipment and records while they are in transit is a separate question: ask us about transit insurance when you request the quote, and ask your own insurer or broker what your business policy covers during a move. We put cover details in writing for each job rather than describing them on a web page. The questions worth asking are in insurance questions before a business move.
Staff relocating to Adelaide
When a role brings someone to Adelaide from another state, the household move is part of the corporate relocation. Moveall Interstate handles door-to-door interstate removals into and out of South Australia, moving entire contents, specialist furniture and cargo across Australia by road and rail freight. Moveall’s own interstate page says the quote is tailor-made: the customer care team asks about bedrooms and living areas, access at both homes and heavy or bulky items, then emails the quote.
A few South Australian rules are worth passing on to anyone moving to Adelaide for work:
- Driver’s licence. Service SA says anyone who has moved to South Australia with a licence from another state or territory must transfer to a South Australian licence within 3 months.
- Vehicle registration. A vehicle registered interstate must be registered in SA within 3 months of the move; an interstate-registered vehicle can be driven in SA for up to 90 days.
- Fruit, vegetables and plants. PIRSA restricts many fruit, vegetables, plants and plant products coming into South Australia from interstate, and travellers must eat or dispose of produce at risk from fruit fly before entering. Do not pack fresh produce or plants for a move into SA.
- Electoral enrolment. The AEC asks people to update their enrolment once they have lived at the new address for a month.
Staff already in Adelaide who move house for a new office location have their own deadline: Service SA says you must update your address within 14 days of the change. One update changes the address on the driver’s licence and vehicle registrations.
Greater Adelaide
Greater Adelaide had an estimated 1,491,015 residents at 30 June 2025, according to the ABS, after growing by 18,600 people in 2024-25.
Staff leaving Adelaide
For staff moving interstate from Adelaide, Moveall Interstate quotes the same way. Road distances from Adelaide on OpenStreetMap road data: Melbourne 726 km, Sydney 1,374 km, Brisbane about 2,000 km and Perth about 2,700 km. Drivers of heavy vehicles must take rest breaks under the national fatigue rules, so delivery timing is set in the interstate quote, not on this page. A move to Western Australia needs a declaration for personal goods, lodged by the removals company, and honey is prohibited unless it comes with a health certificate.
Corporate relocation across Adelaide
We plan corporate moves within and between the 28 suburbs on Moveall’s list, including Adelaide City, Mawson Lakes, Norwood, Unley, Glenelg, Port Adelaide and Mount Barker. The areas page lists them all by region. For the full list of what we take on, and what belongs to other trades, see office relocation services in Adelaide; for the furniture side of a fit-out, see office furniture removals.
